Bikes Policy

Bill Free Homes is proud to support Recyke y’Bike, bicycle charity based in Newcastle. They arrange training classes work with police and other bodies to recycle abandoned bikes and send thousands or bikes per year to Africa to assist health workers get around more quickly.

Bill Free Homes buys reused, recycled, serviced bikes from Recyke y’Bike in bulk every year to meet an increase in demand.

How it works:

The bikes are rented out to students on a ONE YEAR agreement for £110, once the bike is returned to the Student Home Zone Shop at the end of the year, the deposit of £110 is returned to the tenant.

All bikes are serviced before a student takes a bike, we asked that it is also serviced before it is returned, this can done at various bike shops around the city and costs £10 - £20 to be done. Bikes should be returned with a service receipt, if they are not a £20 deduction from the £110 deposit will be taken.

We currently suggest A1 Motor Stores at 2 Old Sunderland Road, Gilesgate DH1 2LH 0191 386 6765 as being the closest to the city centre. Additionally there is Direct Car Parts Front St, Framwellgate Moor Durham   DH1 5AU 0191 384 7803.

The purpose
